Signal vs noise
Kevin O'Leary, aka "Mr. Wonderful," spent part of his formative professional life working for Steve Jobs. One of the most important lessons he learned from Jobs was the difference between what he calls "signals" and "noise."
Signal: Valuable information, crucial tasks, clarity of purpose, decisive actions, and core objectives that need to be accomplished. These signals move the needle more than anything else and must be prioritized.
Noise: All other distractions, irrelevant details, ego, fear, indecision, and anything that prevents you from addressing the signals.
Business success is driven by the 80/20 rule - A high signal-to-noise ratio is crucial for success.
