What a wicked game we play

 “In a wicked world, relying upon experience from a single domain is not only limiting, it can be disastrous.” 

In David Epstein’s book “Range,” he describes a “wicked” environment as a learning scenario that is imperfect, unclear, with incomplete feedback, clouding your ability to ascertain the next steps with certainty. 

Epstein argues that in such an environment, problem solvers greatly benefit from possessing a variety of disciplines, or “domains,” to be able to piece together pathways forward. The more varied the analogies you have, the more creative your solutions can become.
