How do you pronounce the word 'Gif?'

This was the question my 14 year old proffered to me. Naturally I explained the history of the origin of gifs and the accepted pronunciation, because of course I did.

She then said, "Can you keep sending me those throughout the day? It keeps me from getting too stressed out."

To which I said, "I think that's true of everyone these days."
