My Tiny Warrior is a quarter of a year old
And he is definitely larger than his two sisters were at this stage. As he sat sleeping next to mommy this morning, I left and considered how handsome a little man he is, resting pensively while dressed in a giant pink sleeper.
On a more serious note, a word from Gustav Oehler:
The creating God does not reach the goal of His creation until He has set over against Him His image in man. From this last fact it is plain that the self-revelation of God, the unveiling of His being, is the final end of the creation of the world; or, to express it more generally, that the whole world serves to reveal the divine glory, and is thereby the object of divine joy. -- Gustav Oehler, 1873In other, more 2014ish words, God's plan of creation was to reveal His Glory. The goal of creation - the revelation of His glory - was not completed until God had laid over man God's own image. The final end of creation then, the creation of man, is the culmination of the unveiling of God's being, the punctuation of a declaration. That's what my little guy represents (and what we all represent, and it's easier to see it in babies although so easy to forget in ourselves) - that we are the finishing touch on the revelation of God's glory through His creation, and God said that it was not just good, but it was very good. The punctuation affirms everything that comes before it.
