Hugs and Kisses

When my jewel wants to wake me from my slumber, she will climb up on the bed next to me and kiss me. Sometimes this works immediately, and other times it will take multiple kisses to make me wake. And sometimes I will play games with her. She will kiss me, and then I will pretend I'm still asleep and turn my head away from her. This morning, she anticipated and countered my move. So when I turned my head, she reached out with her tiny fingers and gently grabbed my chin and pulled, turning my face back to her, so she could kiss me again. I opened one eye, and watched her break out into a huge grin. Check-mate. Time to rise, papa.
